Vision Tameside, a partnership between Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council (TMBC) and Tameside College, planned an ambitious Town Centre regeneration strategy to improve the lives of local people through economic prosperity and skills, with the delivery of efficient collocated services, improved public realm, accessibility and connectivity within the Greater Manchester area.  Ryder conducted a comprehensive stakeholder and community engagement exercise, and subsequently developed the design for both the building and its interior.  Tameside Two is a versatile development that includes a public library, educational and vocational training facilities for Tameside College, flexible office spaces, and commercial retail areas aimed at attracting visitors.  The public library serves as the front doorway for staff, visitors and the public alike, and acts as the social heart of the building.
